Recently, I’ve been in a motivational slump. I find it very difficult to channel any motivation within me to complete any tasks at hand. In a way, I actually felt a little depressed and was in a terrible state of mind. My mindset just doesn’t feel right and I was behaving a bit irrationally too.
Normally, I am quite optimistic and somewhat full of ambitions. Now, it doesn’t seem like I have any enthusiasm or liveliness in me at all. I really needed something to give me an emotional boost and get me back to my positive state of mind. I needed to get my mojo back darn it.
After a bit of soul searching, I finally have this lightbulb moment. It’s my state of mind that’s being negatively affected right now. If I can find a way to steer myself out of this darkness and back into the light, I’d be fine. I may come out mentally stronger, sharper and even more motivated than ever.
So how do I get out of this funky state of mind? What’s the cure? The answer was really simple and I had always had it within me. I lost sight of it and just needed a gentle reminder. BAM! To cure for my motivational slump, I just needed to recite a few inspirational money quotes out loud to condition my mind, attitude and behaviour. That’s right. You can brainwash condition yourself to do anything you want to.
If you find yourself in a similar motivation slump situation as me, don’t panic. Help is here. Just recite these 26 inspirational money quotes out loud. After you’re done with these inspirational money quotes, I can guarantee you that your state of mind will change for the better. You can and you will be a better version of yourself when this is all said and done. Let’s get started.
26) “A successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.” -David Brinkley
Instead of letting other people’s doubt in you pulls you down, use it as motivation to lift you up and to achieve more. If I set a goal of achieving something, the only person that can prevent me from achieving my goal is me.
25) “How many millionaires do you know who have become wealthy by investing in savings accounts? I rest my case.” -Robert G. Allen
Can’t grow your wealth unless you learn how to invest and put your money to work for you. Having some money in a savings account to cover unexpected expense is prudent, but having your whole life-saving in a savings account is not a smart way to build wealth.
24) “If you buy things you do not need, soon you will have to sell things you need.” -Warren Buffett
Material possessions won’t make you happy. Life experiences will. Instead of buying more things, invest your time and energy in creating experiences that will last forever.
23) “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.” -Benjamin Franklin
The best investment that you can make is an investment in yourself.
22) “Money is a terrible master but an excellent servant.” -P.T. Barnum
Instead of working for money, have money work hard for you. Not only am I putting every dollar of my money to work, I am actually putting other people’s money to work for me by borrowing to invest. Be the master of money and have it serve your needs.
21) “Don’t tell me what you value, show me your budget, and I’ll tell you what you value.” -Joe Biden
You can definitely tell what a person really values by looking at what they spend their money on. Action speaks louder than words and these are very strong words coming from the Vice President of the U.S.A.
20) “People say that money is not the key to happiness, but I always figured if you have enough money, you can have a key made.” -Joan Rivers
It’s true that money won’t be able to buy you happiness. However, it can buy you the opportunities to create happy memories. The more opportunities that you have to create happy memories, the higher the chance you’ll end up being happy.
19) “While money doesn’t buy love, it puts you in a great bargaining position.” -Christopher Marlowe
Have you ever wonder how did a not so attractive dude ended up with such a hot babe? The dude must have something to put him in such a great bargaining position.
18) “Wealth is not about having a lot of money; it’s about having a lot of options.” -Chris Rock
It’s not that funny, but it’s absolutely dead on. I don’t define wealth as how much money I have. I define it as how many options do I have to do what I want. I will start to feel wealthy once I have the option to choose what I do with my time.
17) “You can be young without money, but you can’t be old without it.” -Tennessee Williams
To put it bluntly, everyone needs to save for retirement. Start saving now. Don’t wait and think that you’re still young and has lots of time to catch up. By the time that you realize this, it may be too late.
16) “The more you learn, the more you earn.” -Frank Clark
A higher level of education does not necessarily guarantee a high salary. However, chances are good if you are highly educated, you’ll have an increased chance of making more money.
15) “Never depend on a single income. Make investments to create a second source.” -Warren Buffett
Too many people only have one main source of income – from their employment. If they lose their job, their finance will suffer. Don’t let that happen to you. Learn how to invest your money. You can either invest in rental properties or the stock market to generate another reliable source of income.
14) “If you are born poor it’s not your mistake, but if you die poor it’s your mistake.” -Bill Gates
There are two messages in this quote. The first message says: what you were born into do not determine what you will be. The second says: you can change your destiny. If you work hard enough and believe in your own ability, you will be able to overcome whatever disadvantage situation you were born into.
13) “Too many people spend money they earned to buy things they don’t want to impress people that they don’t like.” -Will Rogers
Simply put, this sounds like people are always trying to keep up with the Jones. Don’t be foolish. The only person that should be impressed with your money is yourself. We don’t do not need to show off our money.
12) “You must gain control over your money or the lack of it will forever control you.” -Dave Ramsey
To be more specific, I think he’s referring to people’s debt and spending. If you don’t take control of these two items, pretty soon, you’ll be in a debt spiral and it will take over your finance. The best way to take control of your money is to spend less than you earn.
11) “Money is my military, each dollar a soldier. I never send my money into battle unprepared and undefended. I send it to conquer and take currency prisoner and bring it back to me.” -Kevin O’Leary
Love him or hate, he’s got a really good point and a no-nonsense attitude when it comes to managing his money. I feel the same way when it comes to my money. I try not to put my money and finance in harm’s way when I am investing or borrowing. I often try to position my troops (money) in an advantageous posting so that they have the best chance to win the battle and conquer (make more money for me).
10) “A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don’t need it.” -Bob Hope
This may sound ironic as banks are in the business of lending money, but it’s so true. Financial institutions often offer me with credit limit increases on my credit cards and lines of credits all the time and I never asked for it. When it comes to applying for loans, they make me go through hoops to get it. Hence, if you want to build some financial buffer, get your line of credit before you need it. Don’t wait until you need the money then apply.
9) “To get rich, you have to be making money while you’re asleep.” -David Bailey
The best way to make money while you sleep is to build lots of passive income sources. One of my favourite passive income sources is to invest in dividend-paying stocks. All I have to do is buy, hold and collect my dividends.
8) “There are free lunches in this world. You just have to find the restaurants that offer them.” -Leo T. Ly
I definitely believe that you can get free lunches if you look hard enough. I was able to leverage my strong financial position to get $1,300 in free money when I transfer my investments. I earned about $1,800 cash back or reward points per year on my spending using a great combination of credit cards.
7) “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” -Lao Tzu
What a great analogy for an aspiring millionaire. Your journey to save a million dollars start with your first dollar. Everyone needs to start somewhere. If you haven’t started your journey yet, now is the time.
6) “Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune.” -Jim Rohn
Some things just can’t be taught in school. You’ll have to learn yourself. Schools can teach you the skills to help you make money, but it doesn’t teach you how to make the most money with your unique talent.
5) “Do not save what is left after spending, but spend what is left after saving.” -Warren Buffett
Most people’s mindset is to squirrel away whatever is left after they pay their bills. This mindset is wrong because you are paying others first instead of yourself. Change your mindset, put yourself first in line to have access to your money. Save first and then spend whatever you have left after your savings.
4) “Do what you want, when you want, where you want, with whomever you want, and as much as you want.” -Tony Robbins
This sounds very familiar. Oh yeah, it reminds me of the reasons why I want to achieving financial independence. Once you’ve reached financial independence, you’ll be able to do anything you want with very little restrictions.
3) “Before you speak, listen. Before you write, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you invest, investigate. Before you criticize, wait. Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try. Before you retire, save. Before you die, give.” -William A. Ward
If there is a quote that I want to be reminded of every day, this is it. One of the most thorough inspirational money quotes that I’ve come across and I think that I am going to frame this quote in my office. This way, I can remind myself what I should do if I needed some motivation.
2) “Time is more valuable than money. You can get more money, but you cannot get more time.” -Jim Rohn
It’s a reminder to all of us that our time on this Earth is limited. Our time is the most precious possession we have. We should not waste it and spend every minute like it’s our last.
1) “Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.” -Bruce Lee
This quote is one of my favourite inspirational money quotes of all time. It’s so simple and straight to the point. We can read all the books and gain all the knowledge we want, but if we don’t put it into action, it’s not going to help us in any way. Today is the day to take action and put yourself in a better financial situation.
